Our beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother, relative and friend returned to her Heavenly Father September 17, 2004. Ruth was born April 18, 1911 to Henry and Sarah Hughes Linnell in Salt Lake City, Utah. She married her eternal companion Carl Johnson June 23, 1935 and shared her life with him for nearly 67 years. Most of their lives were spent in the town of Garfield, the Highland Park area and at their summer cabin in Island Park, Idaho. Ruth will be remembered as a devoted wife, a loving mother and grandmother, a faithful serving church member, a caring and most compassionate neighbor, and friend. She also will be remembered for her lemon meringue pie, chocolate chip cookies, and Christmas Eve family dinners. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and a grandson, Scott. She is survived by her children, Carlene (Jerry) Palmer, Brent (Lynda) Johnson; five grandchildren, Mark (Anne) Palmer, Stacey (Mat) Hutchings, LeeAnn (Boyd) Evans, Lisa (Brig) Dunsmore, Derek Johnson; 13 great grandchildren; and a brother, Earl Linnell. In keeping with Ruth's wishes, graveside services held Tuesday, September 21, 2004, at the Murray Cemetery, 5490 South Vine St. in Murray, Utah. Funeral directors, Larkin Mortuary.
