Our beloved father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and neighbor, James Earl Linnell, age 94, passed away September 26, 2007 at the University of Utah Medical Center. Born April 14, 1913 in Salt Lake City to William Henry and Sarah Ann Hughes Linnell. Married Alice "Ginger" Anton May 1940 in Salt Lake City.
He worked with his brother Scott at Peerless Laundry in Sugarhouse for many years and later worked at Kennecott Copper.

Earl took great pride in his home and loved to work in his yard. He was a long time fan of University of Utah Football. He was an avid outdoorsmen and loved to fish and hunt; he especially enjoyed outings with his brother, Scott, in Provo Canyon. He tenaciously maintained his independence, living in his own home until the time of his death. He exemplified determination and courage to the end. Earl took great pride in his family and especially enjoyed relationships with his grandchildren. If you knew Earl, he left a unique mark of his own in your memory.

Survived by his 6 children: Diane (Glade) Hansen, Bill, Larry (Marilyn), Randy (Susan), Denny, and Robyn (Dave) Ohrn; 23 grandchildren; and 31 great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by his wife Alice, 6 brothers and 3 sisters.

Funeral Services will be held Monday, October 1, 2007, at 11:00 a.m. at Larkin Sunset Gardens Mortuary, 1950 E. 10600 So., Sandy. Friends and family are invited to visit Sunday 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Larkin Mortuary, 260 E. South Temple and one hour prior to the service at Larkin Sunset Gardens Mortuary, Sandy.
Interment at Larkin Sunset Gardens Cemetery.
