In the 1790 census, Elijah is listed as "Leag Carson," between and adjoining his father and his father-in-law. He served with the Westmoreland County PA Militia in 1792. By 1803 he was in Hamilton County, Ohio, with his father and, by 1814, had entered land in Miller Twp, Dearborn County, IN, where his brothers John and Silas had preceded him. In his will (dated 15 Sept 1832, proved 26 Feb 1835) Elijah named his wife, Marh (Mary) and his children. Sons Levi, John Bolar, and Silas each received $1.00, as they had already received their shares; sons James, William and Israel received land, and Elizabeth received livestock and moveable property.
His parents were Levi Garrison and Phebe (Tullis).
