Hannah was the daughter of Phineas Brown (1757-1841) and his wife 2) Huldah Paine (1769–1846). His first wife was Hannah Kingsbury (1757–1791).

Hannah's father, Phineas Brown, was an American Revolutionary War Soldier. DAR Registration #A015797.
