Services for William Wells Church Sr, 91, of 719 NW 17, will be 2 pm Thursday at Street & Draper Funeral Home chapel with burial in Rose Hill Cemetery. He died Monday in a local hospital. A native of Chicago, Church had lived in Oklahoma City since 1925 and was associated with Aetna Life Insurance Co until his retirement.
Church was an 1897 Princeton University graduate. He was named Princeton's All American left tackle in 1896. He moved to Clinton in 1909 and to Hobart in 1924 where he was in the milling business. He was a member of Amity Masonic Lodge 473 and First Presbyterian Church.
Survivors include a daughter, Mrs Onnie B. Funk, Hagerstown, MD; two sons, William W. Jr, 3218 NW 35 Place; and Alonzo, Mattoon, IL. Any memorial contributions may be made to the Oklahoman Medical Research Foundation.
