On 24 June 1785, Revolutionary War Patriot, Major David Golladay married Rebecca Hockman in Shenandoah County, Virginia. Into this union were born 10 children.

On 25 August 1785, three months after his June marriage, David Golladay and unmarried partner Abigail Combs, celebrated the birth of their son Jacob Combs Golladay. It is presumed by this author that David named his first born son, Jacob, after his father, and Revolutionary War Patriot, Lieutenant Jacob Golladay.
