Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, July 13, 2013, at Pickering Funeral Home . Visitation will be Friday from 4 – 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Laddonia Cemetery.
Helen was born September 19, 1918, in Mexico, a daughter of Alexander Clay and Delia May (Pfitzer) Crews. On December 30, 1946, in Mexico she married George F. Doebelin. Mr. Doebelin preceded her in death on March 1, 1993.
Helen was a 1936 graduate from Mexico High School. She worked at the Audrain County ASCS office in Mexico until her marriage. She was a member of Rush Hill Community Church where she served as Sunday School Secretary for over 45 years. She was a member of the King's Daughters Margaret Bottome Circle, a member of the McClintic Rustlers Extension Club for 50 plus years and for many years was the sewing leader for the McClintic Pioneers 4-H Club. She also volunteered for the American Red Cross.
In addition to her husband and parents she was preceded in death by one son in law, Stanley Chaney, three infant grandchildren (a grandson and twin grandchildren, a grandson and granddaughter).
The family suggests memorials be given to the Rush Hill Community Church or to the King's Daughters Home. They may be sent in care of Pickering Funeral Home, 403 N. Western, Mexico, MO 65256.
