Houston - Zara Pittman Arrington, 88, formerly of Bruce, died Wednesday, March 23, 2005, at the Greenwood-Leflore County Hospital in Greenwood. She was born Jan. 18 (sic), 1917, in Coffeeville to Jimmy Pittman and Dora Bobbitt Pittman. She was a former dietician for the Calhoun County Hospital and the Yalobusha County Hospital. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Houston.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Parker Memorial Funeral Home Chapel in Bruce with the Rev. Dan Robertson officiating. Burial will be in Coffeeville Cemetery.
Survivors include two daughters, Margaret Ann Henderson of Greenwood, and Martha Patterson and husband, Bob, of Olive Branch; a son, Larry P, Arrington of Houston: a sister, Sue Craig of Austin, Texas; 13 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, M. W. "Bob" Arrington, and two sons, Bobby G. Arrington and Ralph P. Arrington.
Pallbearers will be Barry Arrington, Brandon Arrington, Scott Patterson, Bob Henderson, Bill Henderson, Tony Uhiren, John Muse and Jack Pumphrey.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial may be made to the Bruce First Baptist Church or the First Baptist Church of Houston.
