Myrtise Alderman Williams, 92, of Hampstead, died Tuesday, July 31, 2012, at Woodbury Wellness Center.
Myrtise was born June 28, 1920 in Sampson County, NC, daughter of the late James Byron Alderman and Anna Beatty Robinson Alderman. Her husband of 60 years, Herbert Williams, two sisters, Mattie Grace Boyd and Mildred Herring, and two brothers, J.B. Alderman and Sidney Alderman, preceded her in death.
Mrs. Williams was a true Southern lady. Myrtise lived on Topsail Island most of her life. She was a sweet lady who led a full and very active life. She loved the beach, the people, her family, and especially being a grandmother. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend.
She is survived by three sons, granddaughter of Wilmington; grandson of Hampstead; sister-in-law of Clinton, NC; and was blessed with many nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be 3:00 p.m. Saturday, August 4, 2012, at Andrews Hampstead Chapel with Rev. Preston Wells officiating. Pallbearers will be her nephews and grandnephews. Interment will follow in Sea Lawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends Saturday at the funeral home, prior to the service, starting at 2:00 p.m.
