Caroline & 2 older brothers, "Bill" William & George, immigrated from Germany and entered the USA in Pennsylvania.

When she arrived, Caroline went to stay with distant relatives who along with her brothers, arranged a marriage to Adam Randoll. Adam was about 20 years her senior.

My dad's family lived with Adam & Caroline. Dad & his sister tell me that Adam & Caroline always addressed each other as Mr. Randoll or Mrs. Randoll. Looking back, they suspect it was not a happy marriage BUT it was not a bad marriage either. They were formal with each other but they did not verbally or physically fight. They simply did what tradition dictated.

note from great grandchild, Kristine: I clearly remember my grandma Randoll. She was soft spoken, never complained and spent endless hours talking & listening to my brothers, sister & me. She loved playing games with us and taught me how to make homemade spaetzle. Grandma [secretly] enjoyed going to the greyhound races. Dad would take her to the races [her rules: only one time per visit because she did not want anyone to know]. Dad enjoyed talking about the time she dared bet 25 cents on a race and she won two dollars. She was very proud to have won but swore dad to secrecy because she was also ashamed of herself.....Dad said it was the 1st & last time she ever made a bet.
