Oxnard, California: Edith M. Deeds, 82, formerly of Cutler, Indiana, died Saturday, January 31, 1981 in St. John's Hospital, here where she was visiting her daughter.
Born November 13, 1898 in Cutler, Indiana, she was a daughter of William and Jenny (Long) Cook. in 1917, she married Hobart Deed who died in 1967.
Mrs. Deeds was a member of the Cutler Presbyterian Church and Bringhurst, Indiana Eastern Star.
Surviving are a son, Wayne Deeds of South Bend, Indiana; two daughters: Margaret Ohl, Indianapolis, Indiana and Frances Smith, Oak View, Indiana; one brother, Joe Cook, Cutler, Indiana; two sisters: Nellie Newell, Lafayette, Indiana; and Mina Sheagley, Cutler, Indiana; four grandchildren; three step grandchildren; and three great grandchildren; and three step great-grandchildren. One daughter preceded her in death.
Funeral services will be Wednesday at 3 p.m. in Baker Funeral Home, Flora, Indiana with the Reverends Edward Morris and Donald Denton officiating. Burial will be in Ball Hill Cemetery, near Cutler, Indiana. Friends may call from 5 to 9 p.m. Tuesday.
