Alyce Hadfield Bai, died at age 91, June 20, 2002 of age related natural causes. Born Aug. 28, 1910 in a log cabin in Elba, Idaho, daughter of George Wells Hadfield and Sylvia Abigail Beecher Hadfield. Attended schools in Elba, Ogden and Clearfield, Utah. Graduated from Davis High School, Kaysville, Utah. Attended LDS Business College in Salt Lake City and was employed at a bank before marrying Lester Jacob Bai, Dec. 29, 1930 in Salt Lake City. He preceded her in death in 1965. Married to Murray Robertson, divorced. After her children were grown she returned to work, retiring from the Utah State Tax Commission. Preceded in death by her parents, three sisters, four brothers, one grandson, eight brothers-in-law, and sisters-in-law and many friends. Survived by sons, Brent (Kay) Bai, Garf (Karen) Bai, daughters Rosemary (Robert Douglas) Pratt, Catherine Hurtado, 21 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren, two sisters, one sister-in-law, many nephews, nieces and friends. Alyce has been an active Catholic almost all of her adult life. She belonged to the Lay Order of Franciscans and other Catholic organizations. She had a good life growing up on farms in Elba and Clearfield. She loved singing and playing the ukulele with her best friend, Wilda, in high school and was involved in musical productions. Sang in church choirs. She loved Bridge, reading and good friends. Lester and Alyce gave their children a good life with lots of adventures. We love you Mom and Dad. We wish to thank the staff of St. Joseph Villa and LDS Hospital for their concerned care. A funeral mass will be celebrated Monday, 10:30 a.m. at St. Ambrose Catholic Church, 1975 South 2300 East. A vigil service will be Sunday, 7:00 p.m. at the Neil O'Donnell & Sons Mortuary, 372 East 100 South where friends may call from 6:00-7:00 p.m. Committal Mount Calvary Cemetery 4th Ave. & T Street. .
