Mrs. Ford was born in the state of Ohio[sic]on Sept. 30, 1842, making her nearly seventy years of age at the time of her death. The deceased was a devoted Catholic and all through her life displayed the true Christian spirit that was ever dominant in her character and gave her a peaceful happy death. Her loving charitable disposition made all who knew her love her and her death will be felt keenly not only by her family but equally so in the neighborhood in which she had lived.
Funeral services were attended by a large number of relatives, friends and neighbors and were held on Tuesday at ten o'clock at St. Michael's church where requiem mass was celebrated by Rev. J. E. Harlin, after which she was tenderly laid to rest in the Prairie cemetery.
There is left to mourn the loss of a devoted wife and mother, her husband, two sons, Edward and John, four daughters, Mrs. E. Fox, Mrs. J. McCarthy, Mrs. L. Barrett, and Miss Margaret who is at home; one sister, Mrs.J. McCormick of Austin, Minn., and one brother, Mr. Mathew Smith of Earl, Wis.
