Mark Robinson was the son of James Robinson b. abt 1792 in Pitt County, North Carolina d. 11 Aug 1879 in Charlton County, Georgia and Easter (O'Steen)Robinson b. 12 Mar 1801 in Tattnall County, Georgia d. Jul 1879 in Cow House Creek, Charlton, Georgia. He first married Sarah Jane Barber on 30 Nov 1854 in Charlton County, Georgia. Sarah was born 15 May 1837 and died 17 May 1907 in Ware County, Georgia. In the 1900 Census for Columbia County, Florida he is listed as Mark Roberson age 62, with his 2nd wife, Belle (Sellers), age 40, and children: Maggie (18), Heron (16) Lem (15), Marcell (13), Ola(10), Janie(8), and Oregan(6). His military service records indicate that he enlisted as a private, into Company F (Okefenokee Rifles), 26th Regiment, Georgia Volunteer Infantry, Confederate States Army on 15 Aug 1861 in Charlton County, Georgia. He was appointed 5th Sergeant on 8 May 1862; Company F, became Company G on 8 May 1862. He was captured at the Battle of Fisher's Hill, Shenandoah County Virginia on 22 Sept 1864, paroled in 1865, and received at Boulware and Cox's Wharves, James River, Virginia for exchange on 19 Mar 1865.
