UNION, UT. Our precious dad and husband left us today, September 11, 2004, after a very brief episode of stomach cancer. He was our source of strength, support, love and humor; he was our life. He was our inspiration by living the motto, "Greet the day with a song, Make others happy, Serve gladly." Born July 7, 1919, to Richard and Clara Kemp in Murray Utah. His childhood and school years were spent happily in Murray. He served honorably as an officer in the Pacific during World War II. He was married to his sweetheart, Burniss Burgon June 6, 1942 in Olympia, Washington. They were happily together for 63 years. He was extremely active in the Union community through his various businesses and community service. Their beautiful home in Union was a haven for their five children and the many others that adopted Kel and Burniss as theirs. Kelvin was an active member of the LDS Church. He enjoyed winning the quarter bets at golf from his golfing buddies. Survived by his wife, Burniss; brother, Shirl (Barbara) Kemp; sister, Dorothy Hubbard and Kent (Joan) Burgon; children, Teri (Dale) Winchester, Bus (Kathy) Kemp, Dana Jackson, Kelly (Fred) Larsen, Katy (Bruce) Jensen; 14 grandchildren; eight great grandchildren. Preceded in death by Tom Jackson (son-in-law); and his sisters, Ruth and Burnice. Funeral services held Thursday, September 16, 2004 at the Union 7th Ward, 6720 South 500 East, Midvale, UT. Interment will be at Larkin Sunset Gardens Cemetery.
