Obituary Syne Sybesma
Mr. Syne Sybesma, 56, died at the St. Joseph, hospital in Sioux City, last week Wednesday morning following a lingering illness.
Mr. Sybesma was born at Pietersbeiren (sic!), Netherlands, on June 25, 1885. On August 24, 1910, at Sioux Center, he married Christina Broek and to this union ten children were born.
Surviving are his widow, six sons, Clarence of Sioux Center, David of Alton, William, John, Syne and Stanley all at home; four daughters, Betsy, Margaret (Mrs. Paul Altena), Gertrude and Christina. He also leaves one brother, Mr. Sam Sybesma of Platte, S.D., three sisters, Mrs. Watse Bierma of Sioux Center, Mrs. John Feikema of Reiner, S.D.; Mrs. Fred Kooi of Hospers, and four grand children.
Funeral services were held last Saturday at 1:00 P.M. from the home and at 2:00 P:M. from the First Christian Reformed Church of which Mr. Sybesma had been an active member. The Reverend Mr. M. Arnoys officiated. Burial was in the Sioux Center cemetery.
Mr. Sybesma was engaged in farming, having farmed around Sioux Center since his marriage.
