Frank Graves Fiedler was born at Ottumwa, Iowa; the son of William and Mary B. Fiedler. Frank attended Dartmouth College. When America became involved in World War 1, he joined the American Ambulance Field Service and left for France in June 1917. He served with T.M.U. 184 for 5 months and enlisted in the U.S. Army at Paris on November 22, 1917. Frank was assigned to the HQ's, 1st Army Artillery. He took part in the Battle of St. Mihiel and the Meuse-Argonne Offensive. Frank returned to the States on May 27, 1919 and was discharged at Camp Dix, NJ on June 9th as a Wagoner.
