Joseph "Joe" David Adkins, 72, of 1922 Jamison Road, died June 5, 2003, at Palmetto Baptist Medical Center.
A native of Greenville, he was a son of the late Rufus Robert and Bertha McCraw Adkins. Mr Adkins retired from the US Air Force and was a veteran of the Vietnam War. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge #50 A.F.M. in Madison WI, the V.F.W. Post #10330 in Greenville and was a Baptist.
Surviving are his wife, of the home; a son of Hudson WI; a sister; three grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Grady Adkins, and sisters, Jennie Lee Humphries and Sarah A. Smith.
Funeral services will be held Monday at 11 a.m. in the Chapel of Westville Memorial Funeral Home, Greenville. The body will be sent to Madison WI, for funeral services and burial on Thursday, June 12, 2003.
The family will receive friends Sunday afternoon at the home of George McCollum, Easley, and also Monday at Westville Memorial Funeral Home, Greenville, from 10 to 11 a.m.
Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association, Greenville SC.
