Announcement has been made of the approaching marriage of Miss Sarah Springer of Monessen to James B. Culler, also of Monessen. The wedding will take place at high noon on Tuesday, October 22. Miss Springer is a sister of Mrs. E. G. Hall of Murphy avenue, and is very popular socially at Monessen. Mr. Culler is superintendent of the machine shops of the Page Wire Company at Monessen.

The Adams Express Company will have to reach down in its pocket and buy a new express wagon unless the Pennsylvania Railroad performs that act for them. In the meantime Expressman James Culler is driving about in a grocery wagon, probably to the comfort of the horse, which has to haul one of the big vehicles that the express company always overloads their horses with. Mr. Culler was crossing the tracks at the marble shop when an engine struck the wagon, smashing it and throwing Mr. Culler out and severely bruising him. The horse was not injured. The wagon was crippled.

Culler, a mechanic in a wire mill, age 36 born in Pennsylvania, his wife, Sarah age 33 born in Pennsylvania, and their daughter, Sarah E. Culler age 1 year and 6 month born in Pennsylvania. also his mother-in-law, Elizabeth P. Springer age 68 born in New Jersey, was living with the family.

In the 1920 census, James and his family were still living in Monessen Ward 1, Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania. He was listed as James B. Culler, a mechanic in a wire mill, age 47 born in Pennsylvania, his wife, Sarah S. age 44 born in Pennsylvania, their children listed were; Esther age 11, and James age 4, both born in Pennsylvania. Also his mother-in-law, Elizabeth P. Springer, age 78, was still living with the family.

In the 1930 census James and his family were living in Rostraver Township, Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania. James was listed as head of household, age 57 born in Pennsylvania, his wife, Sara S. age 55, their son James S. age 14 born in Pennsylvania. Also living with the family was his mother-in-law, Elizabeth P. Springer age 88, and his mother, Maria Culler age 85.

James B. Culler, aged 66 years, employed at the Monessen Page Steel and Wire Company for the past twenty years, and a lifelong resident of Belle Vernon borough, died yesterday morning, June 8, 1939 at 11:35 o'clock at his late home in 812 Broad Avenue, Belle Vernon. Mr. Culler had been ill over a period of six months. He leaves his ninety five year old mother. Mrs. Marian Culler, his wife, Mrs. Sarah S. Culler, of Belle Vernon; one daughter, Mrs. C. L. Newton, of Birmingham, Alabama, and one son, James S. Culler at home. Services will be conducted from the late home at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, June 9th with interment in the Rehoboth Cemetery on Saturday.
