Mr. Joseph Nagle(sic) narrowly escaped being killed on Wednesday of last week. The accident occurred as he was in the act of driving a team of young horses from the barn to the hay field, when by a sudden movement of the wagon he slipped and fell to the ground, still holding the reins, while being dragged at least twenty yards until the wagon came in collision with a stump, throwing the hay rack over. Mr. Nagle, who was attempting to regain his feet, which resulted in his dislocating his shoulder and breaking two of his ribs. The horses, after jumping over a fence, stood still till caught. The wagon was considerably smashed up.

Joseph Nagel, a well known pioneer of the town of Maple Grove died last Wednesday at St. Vincent's Hospital, Green Bay of nephrities, at the age of 72 years. Decedent was born in Austria and came to America with his parents while quite a young man, and family taking up their abode on the present homestead.
He is survived by two sons, John and Albert, and by four daughters, Mary Zipperer, Cato, Lizzie Bender, Brillion, Anna Renk, Maple Grove and Frances at home. The funeral took place this forenoon from the Kasson Catholic church, Rev. Garthaus conducting the services.
