CRASH VICTIM DIES SATURDAY
Injuries Sustained in Auto Accident Fatal to Roman Giese
Roman Giese, 19, Whitelaw, died late Saturday night at the Holy Family hospital of injuries suffered in an accident early Friday morning on Highway 10 near the west limits of Whitelaw. His car turned over in the ditch, after being in collision with a car diven by Arnold Vogel, 21, Branch.
Giese died without regaining consciousness. He sustained a brain concussion, a broken leg and internal injuries.
Funeral services for the young man, who was employed in his father's tavern at Whitelaw, will be held Wednesday at 9:30 a.m. at the Kasson Catholic church. Interment will be in the church cemetery.
County authorities announced there will probably be no inquest.
Vogel, who brought Giese to the hospital here after the accident, reported to Sheriff Hiller that the accident happened when Giese'e car swerved into the path of his machine. Both cars were bound east into Whitelaw. Each driver was alone in his car.
Roman Giese, a son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Giese, was born on a farm five miles northeast of Brillion in the town of Maple Grove.
Survivors are the parents; a brother Earl, and two sisters, Cora and Lena, all at home.
