Born in Colrain where he lived most of his life, he was a self-employed farmer and a teamster for the I.R.Myers Farm and lived here 15 years. He leaves his wife, the former Emma Lively; three sons, Earl R. of Arcadia, Fla., Reginald F. of Agawam, and Maurice W. of Nelsonville, N.Y.; four daughters, Marian Tower of Monroe, Sybil Stafford of Northfield, Mildred Jackson of Shelburne Falls and Rachel Hartwell of Bernardston; a brother, Ellsworth of Colrain; 31 grandchildren; 46 great-grandchildren, and a great-great-grandchild. The funeral will be Sunday afternoon at McCarthy Funeral Home with burial in Branch Cemetery, Colrain.
