Death of Ira C. Bennett, Resident For
40 Years Personals

Ira C. Bennett died Friday after
noon. Nov. 5th. of Bright's disease,
being confined to his bed only ten
days, age 71 years. The funeral was
held at the home of his son, Charles
Bennett, Sunday afternoon, at two
o'clock. Rev. Mr. Eaton of St.
Johnsbury officiating.
Ira C. Bennett was the son of of
George and Hannah Bennett, and was born
in Waterford, Dec. 2, 1844.
He moved to this village
40 years ago, living here until the time
of of his death.
He enlisted in C.K. 11th Regiment, Kentucky
Cavalry, serving three years. The G. A. R.,
of which he was a member, attended the
funeral in a body. He leaves two
sons, Charles and Fred Bennett, and
one daughter, Mrs. Joseph Nichols, also
seven grandchildren, and one great grandchild.
