The funeral of James E. Pavey, who died in California and who reached here Tuesday afternoon was preached in the Christian church Christmas morning at 10 a.m., the Rev. H.R. Lookabill, pastor of the Southside Christian church, Kokomo, in charge. In spite of the bitter cold, quite a number of persons were in attendance. Burial was made in the Russiaville cemetery. Mr. Pavey was a civil War veteran and held in high respect in the community. He was in his seventy-ninth year.
James was preceded in death by his parents, William McKindree and Anna Gore Johnson Pavey; and his wife Anna Jane Cline Pavey. James and Anna were married on January 21, 1868 in Clinton County, Ohio. James is survived by two sons; Charles and George; and two daughters, Adeline and Mary Eva.
