Florian L. Frank, a son of Lawrence and Anna Mary (Wock) Frank, was born on July 19, 1924, south of Dickinson, ND.

He attended parochial grades and high school at St. Pius. He graduated in May of 1942. He attended Hanson Mechanical School and Fargo Business College.

On June 18, 1947, he married Josephine Erhart at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Glen Ullin. After their marriage, he took over the family farm. In 1968, the family moved into Dickinson where he took a job with the Dickinson School District.

Josephine passed away on November 14, 1983. Due to health problems, he retired from the school district in 1985.

On September 13, 1986, he married Anna "Ann" Stein Ferderer at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Dickinson.

Florian was active in the affairs of the local community -- he was an elected officer of the St. Pius Verein, a choir member at the church, secretary/treasurer of St. Pius Telephone Company, and a school board member for many years. He served many terms as an election clerk and judge, and was a 4-H leader. He was also a member of the K of C Council 1515 and the Eagles.

Survivors include his wife, Ann Frank of Dickinson, ND; 3 sons, Dale (Linda) Frank of Jacksonville, FL, Eugene (Jane) Frank of Rochester, MN, and Cletus (Karla) Frank of Yorba Linda, CA; 2 daughters, Dorothy (Harvey) Hibl of Denver, CO, and Wanda Kappel of Phoenix, AZ; 5 granddaughters, 3 grandsons, 4 stepdaughters, 5 stepsons, 3 stepgranddaughters, and 5 stepgrandsons; 2 brothers, Francis Frank of Minneapolis, MN, and Leo Frank of Little Falls, MN; and 1 sister, Katherine Kuntz of Belfield, ND.

He was preceded in death by his parents, first wife, Josephine, 4 brothers, and 1 sister.

Mass of Christian Burial was at Queen of Peace Catholic Church, Dickinson, Tuesday, October 20, 1992, at 10 am, with Father Jerry Kautzman officiating. Casketbearers were Victor Binstock, Frank Urlacher, Nick Olheiser, Christ Frank, Jack Frank, & Tom Kuntz.
