Alvin was retired from Hershey Foods where he was employed for 42 years. He served in the US Army during WWII. He was a member of Elizabethtown Moose #596, Moose Legion #41 and Elizabethtown VFW. He was a life member of the Elizabethtown Fire Company, Elizabethtown Fire Police, and the Dela Ches and Elstonville Sportsman Clubs.
Alvin was also preceded in death by his first wife, Dorothy, and a brother, Harvey Clawser.
He is survived by three sons: Alfred Mowrer (Sandy), Mount Joy; Richard Hershey (April), Ephrata and Paul Hershey, New Holland; two daughters: Paula Hershey, NJ and Natalie Howe, Adams-town; a brother, Robert Clawser (Shirley), Lebanon; and two nieces: Barbara Clawser and Kathy Stewart (Robert).
A Funeral Service will be held on Monday, July 30, 2012 at Miller/Sekely Funeral Home & Crematory, 130 North Market Street, Elizabethtown at 10:00 AM. Friends may call on Monday from 9:00 AM until the time of service. Interment will take place in the United Christian Cemetery, Campbelltown.
