CULLOM - The funeral of Leo W. Dietz, 73, of Cullom, will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. John's Catholic Church, Cullom.
Burial will be in St. John's Cemetery, Cullom. There will be no visitation but friends may visit with the family following the service in the parish hall. Harris-Martin-Burke Funeral Home, Cullom, has charge of arrangements.
He died at 10:47 p.m. Saturday (June 6, 1998) at OSF Saint James Hospital, Pontiac.
Memorials may be made to St. John's Catholic Church, Cullom Fire Department Ambulance or OSF Franciscan Hospice or Home Health Care.
Mr. Dietz was born May 25, 1925, at Kempton, a son of Louis G. and Gertrude Gewehr Dietz, He married Rosella Mae Dietterle on Oct. 9, 1943, at Cullom. She survives.
Also surviving are three sons, Roger (Jan) Dietz, Saunemin; Richard (Cynthia) Dietz, Portland, Ore.; and Eugene (Patricia) Dietz, Houston, Texas; three daughters, Louise (Jim) Holcomb, Springfield; Virginia Haren, Cullom; and Doris (Dan) Whitecotton, El Paso; a brother, Ed Dietz, Ashkum; four sisters, Margaret Wurzburger, Gilman; Mary Deany, Cullom; Gertrude Bogner, Ukiah, Calif.; and Josephine Weber, Seminole, Fla.; 10 grandchildren; two stepgrandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a son-in-law, Philip Haren; two sisters, Dorothy Dancey; and Alice Klehm; five brothers, Walter Dietz; Louis Dietz; Clarence Dietz; John Dietz and; Martin Dietz.
