Mrs. Michael J. Baumann Sr., 73, of Rt. 1, Whitelaw, mother of 11 children,
died at the farm home in Kossuth Monday night following a brief illness.
Funeral services will be held at 9:15 a.m. Friday at the Pfeffer Funeral Home,
Manitowoc, and at 10 a.m., at St. Augusta Catholic Church, Reifs Mills. The
Rev. Joseph Rauch will officiate and burial will be in a Manitowoc cemetery.
She was born Anna Steeber in Franklin in 1881, daughter of the late Mr. and
Mrs. Martin Steeber. In 1902 she was married to Michael Baumann, Sr., and they
resided on the Kossuth farm the past 52 years. In 1952 the couple observed its
golden wedding anniversary.
Surviving are her husband; six daughters, Mrs. Everett Anderson of Martinez,
Calif., Miss Mildred at home, Mrs. George A. Rothe of West Point, N.Y., Mrs.
James Flasch of Kenosha, Mrs. James Stein Jr., of Manitowoc and Mrs. Harry
Gulledge of Chicago; five sons, Michael Jr. and Ervin of Rt. 5, Manitowoc,
Victor of Rt. 1, Whitelaw, Reuben of Kossuth and Herbert of Sheboygan; four
brothers, Anton and Martin of Rt. 1, Whitelaw, John of Rt. 5, Manitowoc and
Emil of Whitelaw; sister, Mrs. Charles Herrmann Sr., of Rt. 5, Manitowoc, and
seven grandchildren.
Friends may call at the funeral home after 2 p.m. Wednesday, where the Rosary
will be recited at 8 p.m. Thursday.
