Dies While On Trip To Former Home
Pioneer Monrovia Woman Succumbs in Minneapolis Hospital
Monrovia, Calif., June 20 - Coming as a great shock to her friends here, is the news received yesterday from Minneapolis of the death of Mrs. Anna Gjems Uhl. Mrs. Uhl left last Wednesday, accompanied by her daughter, Mrs. Harry Booth, and small grandson, Harry Both Jr., for an extended pleasure trip in the east. It was her intention to visit in Minneapolis a few days, and then continue to Wilmar, Minn., which was her girlhood home.
She was stricken on the train, and immediately upon her arrival in Minneapolis was rushed to the hospital, where on Sunday morning an operation was performed in hopes of saving her life. She died Sunday afternoon.
The deceased, who was 67 years of age, was a pioneer resident of Monrovia, and leaves a host of friends to mourn her loss. She is survived by three sisters and her daughter, Gretchen Uhl Booth.
Mrs. Booth, who will return home at once with the body, will be met by her husband, who is awaiting word as to the time of her departure.

Funeral services today (Friday) at 2 p.m. from the home of her daughter, Mrs. Harry Booth, 201 South Shamrock avenue, Monrovia, Cal., Interment, Rosedale Cemetery, Los Angeles.
