ABBREVIATED LIFE HISTORY OF ABOVE

Born Oct. 5, 1891 in Indianapolis, Ind. Graduated from grade school and attended two and a half years at Manual Training High School.

Quit school for a job as a time keeper in a branch railroad office to help expenses after father passed away. Took a course in bookkeeping at a night commercial Business College which lead to a job as a clerk in the C. I. & W. Railroad accounting office downtown Indianapolis.

The Railroad later put in I.B.M. tabulating machines to assist in the accounting of statistics and billing of Government troops traveling over that part of route that was non-land-grant. Later was put in charge of this department with a title of "Head Local & Statistics Clerk".

Was offered a job by the I.B.M. Corp. in 1924 as Sales Representative covering Southern Indiana & Southern Illinois territory. In 1928 was made Manager of the Indianapolis Branch Office.

The 1929 depression caused I.B.M. to make many changes in personnel with seniority rights. Was replaced as Manager by a senior from Chicago and moved to Chicago with two sons Jack and Charles and wife Mildred in 1933. The Worlds Fair was on in Chicago and I.B.M. had a large machine display there, and needed personnel to demonstrate machines. Served on this job most of the year 1933.

In 1934 a transfer offer to the I.B.M. Milwaukee office was accepted. Business was recovering from the longest depression in history. Was a member of the Milwaukee Chapter of Cost Accountants.

Was assigned to handle many I.B.M. machine accounts of some of the largest firms in Milwaukee. Retired Feb. 1st. 1952 at the age of 60 years after 28 years of service with I.B.M. Moved to the Methodist Manor with wife Mildred in Sept. 7, 1967.
