TEXT OF OBITUARY: (December 13, 1938)
MISS MINNIE BAGWELL
Chesnee, Dec. 12.--Funeral services for Miss Minnie Bagwell, 57, of the Cowpens Battleground community, who died Monday morning at the Cherokee County hospital in Gaffney, will be conducted at 1 o'clock Tuesday afternoon at the Thompson Chapel Baptist church by the Rev. Carl Wright and the Rev. Charles A. Sims.
Interment will be in the church cemetery.
Active pallbearers will be W.A. Crocker, Oscar Quinn, Jim Quinn, Archie Quinn, A.M. Quin, and Mack Crocker.
Flower bearers will be Othenia Bagwell, Agnes Bookout, Hazel Bagwell, Lois Bookout, Rosa Crocker and Nellie Bagwell.
Miss Bagwell was the daughter of Harry (sic) and Nellie (sic) Thornton Bagwell, and was born and reared in Spartanburg county.
Survivors include three sisters, Mrs. Tom Bookout of Gaffney, Mrs. C.S. Westbrook and Mrs. Bessie Henderson, both of Gaffney, route 3; and two brothers, Joe Bagwell of Mooresboro, N.C. and Albert Bagwell of Cowpens, route 1.
The body was removed last night from the Blackwell funeral home of Chesnee to the residence of her sister, Mrs. Westbrook, and will remain there until 12 o'clock Tuesday.
