Walter H Uthmann, 74 of 5001 Summitview., Died Wednesday in the Yakima Convalescent Center.
Walter Henry Uthmann was born in Champion City, Mo. to Fred and Pearl (Armstrong) Uthmann on May 20, 1905. At age 12 yrs., he moved to Kansas. He grew up in the Chanute, Ks, area. He Married Susie Russell in Iola, Ks. on Nov. 27 1927. To this Marriage, 4 Children were born. Phyllis, Donald, Marvin & Richard.
He worked at The Ash Grove Cement Plant in Chanute before moving to Washington in 1943, first living in Zilla. Wa.
For the last 29 Yrs, they have lived in Yakima at 5001 Summitview in Yakima. Mr. Uthmann was a Pile Driver Operator at the ATOMIC ENERGY PLANT in Hanford for 19 Yrs. retiring 10 yrs. ago.
He was a member of the Westpark Methodist Church.
Survivors include his Wife Susie, A daughter, Mrs. Charles (Phyllis) Chapman of Yakima; 3 sons, Donald L. Uthmann of Bothel, Marvin A. Uthmann of Foster City, Calif, & Richard W, Uthmann of Longview; 3 Brothers, Fred Uthmann of Toppenish, Elva D. Uthmann of Chanute, Ks. & George C. Uthmann of Okla. City, Okla., a sister, Mrs. Ray (Lenora) Dennis of Chanute, Ks.; 11 grandsons, 1 granddaughter, & 2 Great Granddaughters.
Walter & Susie's Home was always full of Love having taken in 32 Foster Children over the Yrs.
Walter was preceded in death by 3 of his Children, Phyllis, Donald, & Marvin.
