GRANBURY - Phyllis Ward Burns, 74, homemaker, died Sunday, Oct. 28, 2001 in Granbury.

Funeral: 10 a.m. Thursday at Acton United Methodist Church. Burial: 2 p.m. in Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Wiley Funeral Home.

Memorials: In lieu of flowers, the family request memorial to the Young Life Ministries.

Mrs. Burns was born March 5, 1927, in Fort Worth to Frederick (Fred) and Helen (Helen Treue Champion)Ward. Mrs. Burns attended Paschal High School, TCU and the University of Texas. She married Berton Harrell Burns on May 30, 1947, at Carswell Air Force Base in Fort Worth. She was a member of Acton United Methodist Church.

She was preceded in death by a son, William Burns.

Survivors: Her husband of 54 years, B.H. "Tex" Burns of Granbury; son, Charles Burns and wife, Kate of Byron Bay, Australia; daughters, Suzan Stevenson and husband, Jack, of Euless, Barbara Lofts and husband, Ronnie, of Coolangatta, Australia, Irene Mann and husband, Robert, of Mooresville, N.C., Christelle McDonald and husband, Bill, of Aledo and Betty Burns of Fort Worth; 21 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
