Mrs. Mary M. Bronaugh, widow of the late Dr. George Bronaugh, in his day one of the best known physicians of this county, died at the home of her son, Col. R. H. Bronaugh of Crab Orchard, last Friday, after a lingering illness. Mrs. Bronaugh was in her 78th year, and for a number of years had made her home with her son at Crab Orchard, who is the only member of her family living, a daughter having passed away many years ago.
Mrs. Bronaugh was a member of one of the best known and most respected families in Lincoln county. She was before her marriage to Dr. Bronaugh a Miss Munday and was a half sister of Mrs. Eliza Harris, who survives her at her home in the county, northwest of town, and who has herself been in feeble health for a number of years.
Mrs. Bronaugh had been a life-long and consistent member of the Baptist church, and held her membership in the Stanford congregation, where she made her home for some time. After short services at the home at Crab Orchard, by J. C. McClary, the remains were brought to Stanford for interment in Buffalo Springs cemetery. Rev. J. H. Jones, pastor of the Baptist church here, conducted brief services at the grave. A large cortege of friends and loved ones followed the body of this good woman to its last resting place and paid the last rites of love and respect to the memory of a Mother in Israel who has gone to her reward.
