"William Joseph "Joe" Linebaugh, 72-year old retired Pickering farmer, was dead on arrival at 10:45 a.m., Sunday, at the St. Francis Hospital. He was stricken while attending services at the Pickering Christian Church.

Born November 7, 1904, in Clearmont, the son of the late Samuel Albert and Mary Edith Curren Linebaugh, he was married February 14, 1926, at Clarinda, Iowa to Clara Malinda Snyder, who survives.

A resident of the Pickering area for 37 years, he had also retired as a school custodian at Blue Springs. Graduated from the Clearmont High School, he had military service with the Army. He was a member of the Pickering Christian Church and the Pickering Senior Citizen Club.

Besides his wife of the home, he is survived by a son, William Albert Linebaugh, Pickering; two grandsons, David Linebaugh, Hopkins, and John Linebaugh, Pickering; one great-granddaughter, Jeanette Sue Linebaugh, Hopkins; one brother, Raymond Linebaugh, Maryville; four sisters, Jennie Brown, South Gate, CA; Mrs. Lucille Woodruff, Shambaugh, IA: Mrs. Katherine Fitzsimmons, Jefferson City, MO; and Mrs. Bertha Greeley, Elmo, MO, and nieces and nephews.

He was also preceded in death by one brother, Paul Linebaugh and two sisters, Mrs. Lois Long, 1975, and Mrs. Ruth Rouse, 1940.

Services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Price Funeral Home, with burial in Nodaway Memorial Gardens. The family will meet friends from 7 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. A memorial has been established in his name for the Heart Fund and contributions may be left with Mrs. David Hockensmith or at the funeral home."
