"MARYVILLE, Mo. -- Clara M. Simpson, 80, died Sunday afternoon at a local hospital.

She was born Aug. 10, 1903, at Braddyville [sic], Iowa. She formerly lived in Pickering, Mo., and had resided in Maryville since 1979. Mrs. Simpson was a member of the Christian Church. She graduated from the Clearmont, Mo., high school and Northwest Missouri State University in Maryville. Mrs. Simpson was a retired teacher and homemaker. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Joe Linebaugh, in 1977.

Surviving are her husband, Merle Simpson, whom she married in 1979; a son, William Linebaugh of Pickering; a brother, Ermal Snyder of Bethel Springs, Tenn.; two grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Price Funeral Home, Maryville. Burial will be in the Nodaway Memorial Gardens Cemetery." St Joseph News-Press, May 28, 1984
