HOWARD EMIL AWE

Howard E. Awe, age 66, of 1219 Division St., Manitowoc, died Wednesday, October 9,
1996, at Holy Family Memorial Medical Center, Manitowoc.
Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, October 12, 1996, at First German
E. Lutheran Church, Manitowoc. Officiating at the service will be Rev. Joel Otto with
burial to follow in Evergreen Cemetery, Manitowoc. Graveside Mlitary Rites will be
accorded by Vietnam Veterans of America, Manitowoc, Chapter #731.
He was born July 28, 1930, in Newton, son of the late Emil and Elsie Frosch Awe. Mr.
Awe served with the United States Army in Germany from 1948-1952. On August 4, 1954,
he married the former Carole A. Rugowski in Freeport, Ill. Howard was employed for
23 years with the City of Manitowoc. He was a lifetime member of the Disabled American
Veterans.
Survivors include his wife, Carole, Manitowoc; a son and daughter-in-law, Steve and
Barb Awe, Manitowoc; three daughters and a son-in-law, Patricia and Richard Grimsley,
Lexington, Tenn., Barbara Awe, Manitowoc, Laura Awe, Saukville, Wis.; six grandchildren,
Amber and Adam Awe, Richard Jr. and Randy Grimsley, David VanGinkel and Scott Young; two
brothers and a sister-in-law, Matt and Anna Lambries, Louie Lambries, all of Manitowoc;
five sisters and three brothers-in-law, Lee Lampada, Kenosha, Esther and Eugene Sittman,
Violet and Jack Wester, Evelyn Wilson, Betty and Louis Schramm, all of Manitowoc. Also
surviving are nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was also preceded in
death by two children, Pamela Susan, Scott David, one brother, Henry Lambries, one sister-
in-law, Sally Lambries, and two brothers-in-law, Peter Lampada and Wayne Wilson.
Friends may call at the Pfeffer Funeral Home from 5-8 p.m. Friday and Saturday morning
at First German Ev. Lutheran Church from 10 a.m. until the time of service at 11 a.m.
