He was a member of Masonic Herring Lodge No 1224. He had lived in Waco for many years before moving to CA 3 years ago.
He was preceded in death by a son, Tommy Gene Blackshear in 1959 and his wife, Claudie M. Blackshear in 1997.
Survivors include: son, Jerry Blackshear (Joyce); sisters, Ruth Kirk of Austin TX, Paula Baether of Doss TX and Carol Seeley of Grandville Mich; brothers, Waits Blackshear of Beaumont TX, Joy Blackshear of Sierra Vista AZ, and Harold Blackshear of San Antonio TX; four grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren.
