After a lingering illness of many months, one of our most honored citizens, Capt. John Adams, quietly passed into the higher life on Wednesday. Capt. Adams was a native of our town and well known as one of our most successful sea captains. A more extended writing will be given next week.
Mrs. Andrew Adams of Portland, was in town Friday to attend the funeral of Capt. John Adams.
John married Ellen Flora Jack 21 Dec 1869 in Richmond ME. John and Ellen had 3 children. Their children were Nellie (1878- ), George (1881- ) and Katherine (1885-1963). All of their children were born in Boothbay ME.
