Adelina Chacón García, age 89, resident of Albuquerque, passed away on Tuesday, January 13, 2004 in Albuquerque.
Adelina was born in Santa Rosa, NM on July 6, 1914. Adelina lived in Santa Rosa most of her life, but finally settled in Albuquerque with her second husband.
Adelina was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother.
Adelina is survived by her husband, Virgil García, daughter, Sally Chávez and Mel of Albuquerque, son, Randolfo Aragón and Minnie of Murrieta, CA, son, John Paul Aragón Jr. and Lucy of Las Vegas, NM, daughter, María González and Gilbert of Denver, CO, daughter, Viola Rust and Kenn of Denver, CO, sister, Helen Sentman of Indiana, three step-sons, Gabriel García and Stella, Danny García and Arturo García all of Albuquerque. Adelina also had 38 grandchildren, 50 great-grandchildren, seven great-great-grandchildren and numerous other relatives and friends. Adelina was preceded in death by her son, Pete Aragón, daughter, Veronica DeGroen, father, Camilo Chacón, mother, Tomasita Montoya, grandmother, Mogonita Sedillo and first husband, Juan Pablo Aragón Sr.
Adelina will be deeply missed by her loving family.
A Rosary will be recited on Friday evening at 7:00 p.m. at the St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Santa Rosa, NM. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday morning at 10:00 a.m. also at the St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church. Interment will follow at the San José Cemetery in Santa Rosa. Pallbearers will be Nick DeGroen, Joe Chávez Jr., Steve Chávez, John Paul Aragón, Emory Aragón, Lester Aragón and Michael Roybal.
