Mrs. L. W. Billings
Mary Terrell was born September 6th, 1850 and passed away February 12, 1925. She was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Oliver Terrell and was born and raised in Monroe County, Iowa. She was married August 12, 1866 to Levi W.
Billings and to this union were born ten children, nine of whom are now living. They are: Mrs. Ida Beebe, Scotts Bluff, Nebraska; Victor Billings, Albia; Willard Billings, Frederic; Mrs. Minnie Lessinger, Albia; Mrs. Ella Porter, Albia; George, Albert and Harrison, all of Albia and Mrs. Daisy Beebe of Scotts Bluff, Nebraska. Mrs. Billings also has five sisters and one brother living. They are Mrs. Ellen Hoskins, Mrs. Katherine Wagnall, Mrs. Ann Miller, and William Terrell, all of Albia; Mrs. Eliza Gabb of Polson, Montana and Mrs. Leona Cork of Frederic. There are also 50 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren.
Early in life she united with the Methodist Episcopal Church of Miller Ridge, Iowa. Even in the last hours of her life, although suffering much, her faith was strong in the Lord, and she died trusting in him.
The funeral was held Sunday, February 15th, at 2 p.m. at the Methodist Church, Rev. Scoles, officiating. Interment in Oak View Cemetery.
