Lucille Allman Tafel
Mrs. Lucille Allman Tafel, 58, daughter of Mrs. Howard Allman and the late Howard Allman, 422 N. 11th, died Monday night in St. Thomas, Virgin Island, after an illness. Mrs. Tafel, her mother and husband Edgar Tafel, New York City were spending the winter in St. Thomas.
Mrs. Tafel studied at Kansas State University and was a Phi Beta Phi. She also studied at the Julliard Institute in New York City.
She joined an opera company in California for two years then entered the fashion field. She was a buyer and headed departments in the New York clothing industry. Later she formed her own company, Hudson-Blair, eight years ago, which represented 26 firms and employed 15 people. She retired in 1971.
Survivors, in addition to her mother and husband, include an uncle, Dr. Darrel Evans, 2335 Grandview Terr.; and a cousin, Mrs. Virginia Mansfield, 508 N. Juliette Ave.
Plans for a memorial service have not been announced.

Mrs. Edgar Tafel
Mrs. Lucille Blair Tafel, Wife of Edgar Tafel, an architect, died yesterday in St. Thomas, Virgin Islands. She was 58 years old and lived at 14 East 11th Street.
Mrs. Tafel was a buyer for several department stores, including Lord & Taylor here and Carson Pirie Scott & Co. of Chicago. For several years until her retirement last March she had operated her own buying office, Hudson-Blair.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by her mother, Mrs. Howard Allman of Manhattan, Kan.
