My Ancestor:
Joseph was the son of Joseph and Frances Leeman. He was born about 1730, probably in St. Anns Parish, Essex, VA.

In about 1749 he married Elizabeth "Betty" Merritt, daughter of John and Mary Haywood Merritt.

1814 Will of Joseph Leeman: Source: Book E Pg. 129; dated 5/19/1814. Information on Joseph Leeman's children comes from his May 19, 1814 Franklin County will which was probated in 1817. An inventory of his estate taken December 8, 1816 included 266 acres of land and two slaves, Peter and Dick.
