Mrs. Anna Severina Simonson Peterson - Obituary

Blakesburg - Mrs. August Severina Peterson, 82, died Sunday at 6:15 p.m. at St. Joseph's Hospital in Ottumwa. She had a heart condition for several months.

She was born November 21, 1880, in Jackson County, Minnesota, the daughter of Ole and Laura Olson Simonson. she came to Munterville in 1903 and on September 6, 1905, she was married to August Peterson. They lived on a farm near Munterville until his death in 1950. Since 1951 she had made her home in Blakesburg.

Surviving are three sons, Carl and Morris of near Blakesburg and Lester Peterson of Albia, Route 3; two daughters, Mrs. Elvera Burton and Mrs. Alice Patrick of Long Beach, California; 15 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; three sisters, Mrs. Alma Brooten of Idaho, Mrs. Hannah Allen of Denver , Colorado and Jeannie Shultz of West Chicago, Illinois, and two brothers Otto Simonson and Soren Simonson of California

Funeral services will be held at Munterville Lutheran Church Wednesday at 2 p.m. in charge of the Rev. Alffield Franzen. Burial will be in Munterville Cemetery. The casket will be taken from the Knedler Funeral Home to the church at noon Wednesday and will be closed at the beginning of the service
