Martha was born and raised in Kittanning and Mahoning, PA. She married George W. Robinson on October 22, 1867. They moved to Tionesta, PA in 1872 where they raised their 3 children. She supported her husband in his business ventures and was very active in the Tionesta Presbyterian Church. Her sister Mary lived with them in the large family home. She died of the effects of a stroke that occurred three months before. She was originally buried in the Riverside Cemetery and later moved to the Robinson plot in the Mount Collins Cemetery.
