He married Beulah Mae Tucker, 1942 in Wakula, Wakula Co, FL, daughter of Oliver Tucker and Mary Gwaltney.

Gilbert W. Barwick Sr., 84, of Tallahassee died Sunday.

The service will be at 11 A.M. Wednesday at Harvey-Young Funeral Home in Crawfordville (926-3333), with burial at Vause Branch Cemetery in Wakulla County. Family will receive friends from 6 to 8 P.M . today at the funeral home.

A native of Sopchoppy, he had lived in Tallahassee for 40 years. He was a retired Navy chief who served for 21 years and during World War II. After retiring, he worked for 15 years with the Federal Bu reau of Prisons. He was a member of First Baptist Church and the Couples Sunday School Class.

He is survived by his wife, Beulah Barwick of Tallahassee; a son, Gilbert W. Barwick Jr. of Warner Robins, Ga.; a daughter Violet Hatcher of Tallahassee; three sisters, Dorothy Howard and Willodeen Jo yner, both of Tallahassee, and Mellie Pearce of Hillsboro, Ala.; four grandchildren; four step grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
