Verna Mildred Bright, 93, of Lincoln, died Friday, February 23, 2001. She was born in Massena, Iowa on January 18, 1908 to William F. and Millie M. (Powell) DeVore. She was the oldest of seven children and was a retired registered nurse. Verna married Joseph H. Bright on October 2, 1929 at the house in which she was born. They were married more than 66 years.

Survivors include: daughter and son-in-law, Joan and Fred Koepping of Sierra Vista, Arizona; grandsons and spouses, Kerry and Dianne Koepping, Kevin and Donna Koepping, all of the Denver area; Craig and Gayle Koepping of Wall, New Jersey; Clark and Cynthia Koepping of Enid, Oklahoma; great-grandchildren, Kristen, Carolyn, Rachel, Isabel and Cooper Koepping; sister, Velma Hosfelt, of Massena, Iowa; brothers, Earl and Roy DeVore, both Cumberland, Iowa; nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by husband, Joe; parents; sister, Alice; brothers, Ronald and Harry DeVore.

Services are at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Second Baptist Church, 525 N. 58th St., Lincoln. Pastor Jim Cummings will officiate. Entombment will be in the Lincoln Memorial Park Mausoleum. Visitation will be held noon-9 p.m.Monday at the Lincoln Memorial Funeral Home, 6800 S. 14th St., one hour before services.
