Marjorie M. Watson Howey, 86, of Pittsburg, dies at 9:02 a.m. on Friday, Nov. 28, 2003 at Mt. Carmel Regional Medical Center following a long illness.
She was born on May 17, 1917 at Weir to Harvey A. and Amanda L. Ekstrand Watson.
She attended the Pleasant View school in Cherokee County.
On Dec. 11, 1938 she married Boyd Garner. He preceded her in death on April 22, 1968.
She later married Lester Stevens on Oct. 1, 1969. He preceded her in death in December of 1972.
She then married Merle Howey on Feb. 26, 1994. He survives her of the home.
Mrs. Howey was employed at the Puritan Dairy, the Deruy Albertini Furniture Store and Food Town in Pittsburg.
She was a member of the Mt. Olive Baptist Church of Girard. She was a past member of the Order of the Eastern Star and the American Legion Auxiliary.
She was an avid bowler and league secretary for many years.
In addition to her husband, Mrs. Howey is survived by a son, Robert B. Garner of Ringo; two daughters, Sue Butts of Pittsburg and Judy Boore of Girard; two brothers, Carl Watson of Oxnard, Calif., and Marion Watson of Springfield, Mo.; six grandsons and 11 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two husbands; four brothers, Harvey, Ralph, LrRoy and Elmer Watson; three sisters, Opal Harbison and Christine and Fern Watson.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at the Mt. Olive Baptist Church with the Rev. Gary Brewer officiating.
Burial will follow at th Garden of Memories Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the Bath-Naylor Funeral Home from 7 to 8 p.m. Sunday.
Friends also may call at the funeral home after 4 p.m. today.
Services and arrangements are under the direction of the Bath-Naylor Funeral Home, 522 S. Broadway.
