I have found an 1800 Nelson County, KY Tax list for Samuel Lee.
He is found in the 1820 Bardstown, Nelson County, KY census. Three males under 10 and one over 45 and three females under 10, five between 10-15, two between 16-25 and one over 45 lived in the house. One person in the household was engaged in manufacturing.
The 1830 Washington County, KY census shows two males between 10-14, three between 15-19 and one between 50-59. There are one female between 5-9, one between 10-14 and one between 50-59. At this time Samuel had two slaves. He was listed as a farmer.
In the 1840 Marion County, KY census there are one male under 5, four between 20-29 and one between 60-69. The females listed were one between 15-19, one between 30-39 and one between 60-69. At this time Samuel had seven slaves.
The 1850 Marion County, KY census shows Samuel Lee, Sr., 72, as a farmer with real estate valued at $10,500. He was born in KY. Samuel, Jr., 36, also lived in the house and was a farmer. Also living in the house were Martha Tucker, 26, and Nancy Tucker, 20. We have no idea how these two women fit in. They could be housekeepers hired after Samuel's wife, Ann died.
Samuel Lee, 82, is listed as a farmer with a real estate value of $12,000 and personal property valued at $8,800 in the 1860 Bradfordville, Marion County, KY census. In this census it is said he was born in MD.
I found an 1860 slave listing for Samuel Lee. He owned one female age 75 and six males ages of 45, 26, 24, 22, 21, and 20.
Their children were: Susan-1799, Margaret-1801, Jane-1803, James Rapier-1804 (my ancestor), Philip-1806, Raymond-1808, Richard-1811, George-1813, Charles-1815, Nancy-1817, Samuel, Jr-1819, William-1821, Benedict John-1823, Elizabeth-1825. This is from an old quill written letter by one of James' children. Hope this helps clear up some questions.

Gravesite Details
This stone is laid down in a chained off section of damaged stones. This section is at the top of the steps leading up to the Old Pioneer Cemetery of Holy Name of Mary. Other than the top being broken off it is in very good shape.
