In the name of God amen, By Benjamin Reid of Hamilton bann township in the county of Adams and state of Pennsylvania being weak in body But of sound and disposing mind thanks and praise be ascribed Onto almighty god for all his mercies to make and published this my last will in manner following viz. My will so that all my just debts and funeral expenses be paid out of my personal state by my executors herein after named.
Item: I give and bequeath unto My daughter Nancy intermarried With John Robinson the sum of $500.00 to be paid by my son Josephus B. Reid In the following order: $200.00 within one year after my disease in $100.00 yearly every year thereafter until the whole is paid.
Item: I give and bequeath onto my daughter Polly intermarried with Andrew Marshall the sum of $500.00 to be paid by my son as follows: $200.00 within one year of my decease than $100.00 yearly every year until the whole is paid.
Item: I give & bequeath onto my four grandchildren, Children of my daughter Peggy intermarried with Jeremiah Porter, Namely William, Benjamin, Sally and Washington Porter The sum of $500.00 to be paid by my fourth son as follows: $200 within one year after my disease and $100.00 yearly every year until the whole is paid and the monies Then paid is to be equally divided between them share and share like.
Item: I give & bequeath onto my daughter Sally the sum of fifteen hundred dollars to be paid by my said son in the following order $800.00 within one year after my decease in $100.00 yearly and every year after until the whole is paid. Also one horse ... saddle and bridle her choice. Also 1/2 of all and singular my household and kitchen furniture. Also the time of my bound girl Margaret McClellan Until she have Arrived at the age of eighteen years. And my will further is The but my said daughter is to enjoy the benefit and sole use Of the back enclosure on the first floor of the house I now live in also one room for the second floor of the house Her choice, And ... to enjoy second Rooms let or hindrance until she gets married or chooses to live elsewhere And no longer.
Item: I give & bequeath to my son Josephus B. Reid all & singular the land I own and that is the plantation I live on also a tract of Mountain land on the waters of Toms Creek And joining lands of Philip Phail And others with everything that doth belong Or in any wise ... unto the said tracts of land Without reserve or limitation except what is herein But with before accepted for the benefit of the my daughter Sally. To my said son and to his heirs and ... for ... . Also the time of my black boy named Harry until he shall have arrived at the age of 28 years. Also, livestock of every kind except what is already bequeathed. Also my land and plantation, With all my firm and utensils, horse, guns, Also all my cash ... But the everything that doth belong to my personal estate That is not already ... bequeathed. And my will further is that my small library be divided as follows viz. I give and bequeath onto my daughter Nancy the first volume of Scotts family Bible, unto Polly the second and unto my son Josephus B. Reid the third volume of Scotts family Bible, also my large Bible. Unto daughter Sally the fourth volume of Scotts family Bible also all of volumes Witherspoon and Ridgley on the larger catechism And as to the residue of books, My children may divide them as they Think best.

Lastly, I nominate and appointment my son Josephus B. Reid And my friend Joseph Maginly Sole executors of this my last will Revoking all others And former wills by me made and declaring and No other to be my last will and testament. Witness my hand and seal the seventeenth day of May in the year of our lord eighteen hundred and twenty-six.

Adams county before me George Ziegler Register for the probate wills and granting letters of administration At in and for the county of Adams in the state of Pennsylvania personally came Martin Gill, Alexander Harbaugh and Joseph Maginly The subscribing witnesses To the foregoing instrument of writing and On their solemn oaths do (unreadable) Say that they were personally present and saw and heard Benjamin Reed sign his name unto and seal and publish the foregoing Instrument of writing as and for his last will and testament and at the time of doing thereof he the said Benjamin Reid was of sound and disposing mind memory and understanding to the best of their knowledge and belief And they subscribed their names thereto as witnesses in the presence of the said testator and at his request and also in the presence of each other at the same time. Signed: Martin Gill, Alex Harbaugh, Joseph Maginly

Sword and subscribed before me at Gettysburg June 26, 1828 George Ziegler, Reg.

Memorandum Letters testamentary were this day granted onto Josephus B. Reid and Joseph Maginly executors of Benjamin Reid deceased in inventory to be exhibited into the register's office at Gettysburg on or before the 26 date July next and account for reckoning on or before the twenty sixth day of June AD 1829. Witness my hand the twenty sixth day of June AD 1828.
